Practicing Perspective Just Means 'New Stuff'

What is Meditation?

Meditation is simply a tool for the mind, just as a barbell is a tool for the muscle or a treadmill is a tool for cardiac training.

A meditation is simply one present moment experience after another…

How does meditation work?

The functionality of the mind, body and spirit is divinely engineered to work in harmony. Yoga teaches us this integration.

The goal for a meditation practice is directing the focus of the mind and quieting a narrative of thoughts that is often generated from the ego’s perspective, or from somewhere in the past or future.

There are many types of meditation — guided meditation listening to a teacher’s voice, silent meditation, walking meditation in nature, mantra meditation, transcendental meditation, to name a few examples.

The meditation library here will be focused on guided meditation, yoga Nidra and breathwork.

“…one present moment experience after another.”

Is this you?

  • I can’t seem to quiet the mind, it’s always saying something or re-telling a story of the past or future.
  • I don’t feel comfortable sitting still.
  • I don’t believe I can meditate.
  • I have tried meditation and it doesn’t work.

The more you practice meditation, you are increasing the opportunities for clarity and relief from stress — which then increases the potential we all have to function more fully as human beings. Meditation is a step within the process of regulating emotions and navigating relationships.
